↑ The Sanguozhi mentioned that Dian Wei was killed in action during the Battle of Wancheng, but did not give details on his time of death. The Battle of Wancheng took place around the first lunar month of the second year of the Jian'an era (196-220) in the reign of Emperor Xian.[1] This date corresponds to sometime in early 197 CE.
